Inaugural Class Enters CRC Hall of Fame Saturday

The inaugural class of the Collegiate Rugby Championship Hall of Fame will be inducted Saturday at the 2024 CRC in front of 144 teams and thousands of fans. During breaks in play, honorees will take the field and deliver live speeches.

Tournament founders Jon and Patti Prusmack will be the first inducted at 1:10 p.m. right after the Men’s Division I Club semifinals and before the Women’s Premier Cup quarterfinals.

KB Slaughter and Meya Bizer will be inducted at 5:33 p.m., just after the Men’s Premier Cup semifinals and before the Men’s Small College national championship game. Slaughter helped Life University win back to back CRC titles in 2016 and 2017, before playing for the United States national team and in Premier Rugby 7s. Bizer led Penn State to three straight titles from 2013 to 2015, before playing for the Eagles and professionally in England.

At 8:18 p.m. just before the men’s Premier Cup final, Nate Ebner and Rocco Mauer will be inducted. After walking onto the Ohio State football team and before winning three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, Ebner starred for the Buckeyes in the first two CRCs. Mauer was the first ever CRC MVP, leading the inaugural event in tries and Bowling Green to a Bowl championship before being called up to the 7s national team and medaling at the Pan Am Games.
