Forty-three to Clinch in Final Round of Qualification

The final weekend of qualification will see 43 teams earn automatic bids to the Collegiate Rugby Championship. At-larges will be finalized in the coming days by the selection committee, and all eight brackets leading to a national championship will be revealed during the Selection Saturday Show April 20 at 7 p.m. ET live on The Rugby Network.

Three conference champions will punch their tickets to the Women’s Premier Cup, as the Midwest Conference 7s series comes to a head in the third and final stop in Cedar Falls, IA, and the South Atlantic crowns a champion in Alamance County, NC. The Rugby Northeast will play to a winner Sunday in Easton, MA.

Men’s Premier will see four conference champions clinch bids on the weekend, with the Liberty in Fairfield, CT, the Big Ten in Notre Dame, IN, the Big Rivers in Indianapolis, IN, and the culmination of the Southern Conference’s series in Greenville, NC.

The Liberty’s DI-AA Championship Saturday in Amherst, MA will qualify its winner for Men’s Division I Club, as will the MAC Championship in Athens, OH and the MARC Championship in Wilmington, DE.

Men’s Division II will see nine conference champions punch their tickets to Maryland over the weekend. The Cardinals Conference is playing its championship in Farmville, VA, the Gateway in Rolla, MO, the Great Midwest in Cottage Grove, WI, the Liberty in Amherst, MA, the MARC in Wilmington, DE, the New England Wide in Springfield, MA, and the Southern in Greenville, NC.

In Women’s DII, the Great Waters will crown a champion in OshKosh, and the MARC is picking a winner in Wilmington, DE. The Ohio Valley contests its tournament in Muncie, IN, and New England Wide does so in New London, CT. The Rugby Northeast and South Atlantic championships are being held in conjunction with their DI and Small College tournaments in Easton, MA, and Alamance County, NC, respectively.

Seven will qualify this weekend in Men’s Small College. The MARC crowns its champion in Lancaster, PA, the Allegheny in Pittsburgh, PA, the NERFU in Wellesley, MA, Colonial Coast in Smithfield, RI, and the Cardinals in Farmville, VA. Two more teams will clinch bids through open regional qualifiers in Greenville, NC and Cottage Grove, WI.

11 Women’s Small College conference champions will clinch bids: the Allegheny in California, PA; Colonial Coast in Beverly, MA; EPRU in Lancaster, PA; Great Waters in OshKosh, WI; MARC in Wilmington, DE; New England Wide in New London, CT; Ohio Valley in Delaware, OH; Rugby Northeast in Easton, MA;  and South Atlantic in Alamance County, NC.
