Four Women’s National Champions were crowned Saturday in front of a boisterous crowd. Despite inches of rain falling Friday, the sun showed its face Saturday, painting the stadium in the perfect light for championship sevens.
Final Countdown as CRC Begins Friday
On the eve of the Collegiate Rugby Championship, 122 teams, thousands of athletes, referees, fans and coaches are en route to Maryland for the largest college rugby tournament in the world. Eight national championships will be won, 297 matches played, and more than 68 hours of rugby live-streamed for free.

National Collegiate Rugby welcomes The Rugby Network as the Official Streaming Partner of the 2023 Collegiate Rugby Championship on April 28-30 in the Washington DC metro area. With 122 teams, the tournament crowns National 7s Champions across eight men’s and women’s divisions.
Men’s Premier Cup Bracket Announced
The deepest field in the 13-year history of the Collegiate Rugby Championship is set, with returning champion Kutztown looking to defend its crown. The Golden Bears are one of four top seeds, alongside returning quarterfinalist Indiana, Rugby East champion Wheeling and Notre Dame College.
Women’s Premier Cup Bracket Announced
Sixteen of the top women’s programs in the country from 10 different states are slated to compete for the top prize at the Collegiate Rugby Championship. Army and Brown come in as the top seeds, the Black Knights having won the inaugural CRC in 2010 and the Bears making their CRC debut. Brown is in its first year under head coach Rosalind Chou, who coached Life University to back-to-back Prusmack Cups in 2016 and 2017.
Men’s Division II Pools Announced
Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s title defense is in full swing, as the reigning champion Redhawks have made their way nicely through a tough schedule this spring, showing well against opponents from higher divisions while dominating DII competition. Northern Iowa, which finished third last year, also returns having won the Great Midwest title last week in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin.
